Our story
CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY PLUS builds on the strong foundation established during the study phase by bringing together a multidisciplinary partnership with complementary expertise in agriculture, soil science, environmental monitoring, stakeholder engagement and policy development. While the initial project focused on generating knowledge and identifying opportunities for carbon farming across the Mediterranean region, C4SQ+ expands the consortium to strengthen testing, validation and implementation activities in real-life conditions.

Building on a Strong Foundation
The initial CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY project consortium was built on a strong partnership of research institutions, innovation organisations and stakeholder representatives from across the Mediterranean region. Their combined expertise in soil science, agriculture, environmental sustainability and innovation enabled the consortium to assess carbon farming opportunities, develop methodologies and generate the scientific knowledge that now forms the foundation of C4SQ+. As a study-type project, scientific excellence played a central role, supported by partners closely connected to farmers, innovation networks and civil society.
