Project description

One sentence description

CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY PLUS tests and validates carbon farming practices across seven Mediterranean territories to improve soil quality, enhance carbon sequestration and support the wider uptake of carbon farming.

One paragraph description

CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY PLUS builds on the knowledge and methodologies developed during the CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY study phase by putting carbon farming solutions to the test in real-life conditions. Across seven pilot territories in Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Spain, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Cyprus, the project tests and validates carbon farming practices, monitors their environmental and soil impacts, and evaluates socio-economic models. Through pilot activities, Carbon Farming Living Labs and stakeholder engagement, CARBON 4 SOIL QUALITY PLUS will generate practical evidence, tools and recommendations to improve soil quality, enhance carbon sequestration and support the wider uptake of carbon farming across the Mediterranean region.
