On January 21-22, 2025, the third in-person project meeting for the Carbon 4 Soil Quality (C4SQ) project took place in Skopje, North Macedonia. Hosted by our partner, the Institute of Agriculture – Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (IAS), the meeting brought together project partners to review progress, finalize key deliverables, and plan upcoming activities.

📌 Finalization of Deliverables
Several activities reached their completion stage, including:
- Activity 1.1 – The Catalogue of Soil Organic Matter Reference Values, was finalized, outlining soil carbon sequestration potential across Mediterranean regions.
- Activity 1.2 – The Methodology for Soil Organic Carbon Analysis and Soil Quality Monitoring, was successfully completed.
📌 Ongoing Activities and Discussions
- Activity 1.3 (Carbon Farming Techniques Selection) – the session focused on gathering relevant studies and data, highlighting the differences in research availability across Mediterranean countries.
- Activity 1.4 and 1.5 (Socio-Economic Models and Carbon Credit Systems) – Partners discussed the next steps for integrating economic and policy frameworks into carbon farming methodologies.
- WP2 & WP3 Updates – The team reviewed strategic planning, training material development, and project impact assessment.
